Buck Season 2010

Friday night Garry got a nice 8 point out of his new tree stand. While I am sure that he wishes that Lexi would have been with him to shoot it, he was none the less excited. Lexi and Cole were too - as they kept fighting over who would get to hold the horns - here Cole is all smiles as it was his turn.

Lexi wanted to get all decked out too for the picture
My little hunting girl - all in camo and her blue boots :)
One thing that I can say I am glad that he is passing down to our kids...

Christmas Pictures

I decided to take the kid's Christmas pictures this year - we got a beautiful day and we dressed up and decided to do a little adventuring. I found some great places to take some pictures. I was pleased with them - although I know that I still have a lot to learn about my camera and natural light.

I loved this shot - I told them to walk down the path and stay together so they didn't get in the mud....

Merry Christmas from Lexi & Cole!!

Happy 9th Birthday Lexi!

Blowing out those 9 candles - where has the time gone
It was ICarly this year - here is her Dairy Queen cake with Carly and Sam on it
Opening presents - Bryanna got her the Liv Doll she wanted!!
Art book from Mommy
Bryanna, Cole, Brett & Logan looking on - Bryanna is taking over Lexi's role of playing dress up at every birthday party.
The day after Thanksgiving, Lexi had her friend birthday party - a sleepover with three of her girlfriends. It was her first real sleepover here at the house - so to say that she was excited would be an understatement. We had pizza and cupcakes, did nails and hair, played Barbies, and squealed and screamed a lot....
We played rock band in our pj's
and sang Happy Birthday!! We also lost three teeth - Becca lost two and Lexi lost one. So needless to say - once everyone fell asleep about 2am - I think the tooth fairy even came!!!
Happy Birthday Lexi - here is to great friendships and family in your years to come...

Flag Football

Flag football has officially started - it is put on in part with the NFL - so the kids get reversible Steeler's jerseys - much to Uncle Bibi's thoughts. We missed the first game when we were camping - and last week - well - I don't want to talk about it - took over 100 shots and somehow I deleted them all - not a good day!!
This week Garry was on football duty as I was at work - and Cole had a great game. Mom, Meg, Bryan, & Bryanna came to see him play!!
Dashing off with his first hand off from coach Todd!!
Made it almost to the goal line and tripped and fell - but they got the touchdown on the next play!!
Here he is on another hand off!! Bryan seems to think he will make a better lineman for the Buckeyes than a running back :)
Facing off against his best bud - Brett!!

In Rememberance

It has been a rough couple of weeks at the Henry House. Last Thursday - a week ago today - Grandpa Henry passed away after a brief illness. We were blessed to have been able to see him Wednesday night, kiss him good night, and tell him how much we loved him before we left. He went peacefully in his sleep to see Grandma Henry we are sure. He was here for 90 great years - as we celebrated his 90th birthday in February.
This is a picture of Grandpa holding Cole the day that he was born - Garry couldn't have been more proud to introduce Grandpa to his son. Grandpa always got a special sparkle in his eye when Cole came around - they were great buds.
This is my favorite picture of Lexi with Grandpa Henry - even though it is from behind. She loved to play Grandma's organ - and being a Grandparent - he always let her - even though we always told her no. He loved his 3 kids, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren more than anything else in the world. We will miss you Popey Homey - and see you again some day!!

This is our Henry men last summer at Jay & Natalie's - from L to R - Grandpa, Garry, Cole, Gene, Bruce & Jay.
Today - we got the call that my Great Grandma Bell passed away at the age of 105. I always joke with Garry that we are going to live forever with as long as our grandparents live. She was a spunky lady who taught be that you live each day like there isn't a tomorrow - what fresh parsley really looks like in a garden - and that it is always okay to give your great grandchildren shower caps and hotel bath soaps as Christmas presents.
This was a 5 generation picture taken shortly after Lexi was born. Grandma Bell was my Grandpa Lenk's mother. God bless you Grandma Bell - say hello to Grandma Lenk in heaven and tell her how much we love and miss her.
